Group Therapy offers a supportive & collaborative environment where we can come together and explore shared experiences.
Members have the opportunity to gain valuable insights, perspectives, skills and connections that help them navigate the various challenges we face today.
Depending on the group, sessions may be offered either in person in Bradenton, FL or online.
Who is this for?
This group is for individuals 18+ who have undergone Bariatric Surgery. Whether you're a day or a year (or more) from surgery, you can benefit from connecting with others who understand the experience.
Dates & Times
We'll meet every first Friday of each month at 6pm CST/7pm EST.
The remaining dates for 2023 are: 9/1, 10/6, 11/3 & 12/1.
Cost & Commitment
The cost is $30 per group. (Check with Lori to find out if you're in network with her and if your insurance will cover this service.) This is an open group - you can register for each one as we go. For maximum benefit, t's encouraged to attend monthly but it's not required.
Leader
This group is led by Lori Streator. She is a licensed therapist and Board Certified Bariatric Counselor. She understands the challenges & triumphs that come along with bariatric surgery. To read more about Lori, visit the About Page.
This Bariatric Surgery Support Group will take place online via Zoom. You'll receive your unique link to join once registered.

Who is this for?
This support group is in person in Bradenton, for anyone ages 18 & older who has been diagnosed with chronic illness, such as autoimmune issues, migraines, IBD, chronic pain, diabetes, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, etc.
Dates & Times
The group will begin on Tuesday, August 1st, promptly at 7pm.
Group sessions will run from 7-8pm. You're welcome to arrive 5-10 minutes early to get settled.
The group will meet EVERY OTHER Tuesday; please ensure you can attend all dates: 8/1, 8/15, 8/29, 9/12, 9/26 & 10/10.
Cost & Commitment
The cost is $20 per group or $100 if paid in advance.
Due to the nature of this close community, we request anyone signing up to commit to the duration of the group.
There are 8 spots available and we're intentionally keeping this support group limited to retain integrity & ensure everyone receives the time & attention they deserve.
Leader
This group is being led by Leaya George, a fellow chronic illness warrior, and amazing mental & physical health advocate.
Leaya has a lot of experience leading - she has led groups in the past for anxiety & depression and has also helped prepare topics & material for a TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) group. She brings a wonderful, calming energy into any room and is very involved in navigating & providing support within the chronic illness community. You can read more about Leaya on the ABout Page.
This Chronic Illness Peer Support Group will take place in person at our Bradenton office.
